Insight into the Mind of Robert Cox

A reader sent in this copy of an email exchange with Robert Cox. It gives a glimpse into the warped mind of the proprietor of Olbermann Watch.

Cox spams anyone who has the nerve to disagree with him and publishes their emails WITH THEIR EMAIL ADDRESSES on his site. If what is good for the goose is good for the gander then surely Robert Cox will not mind my publishing this exchange WITH THIS PERSONAL EMAIL ADDRESS here.

Still not convinced that Cox is a sick, twisted individual?

Cox writes:

Monitoring the un-American activities of Keith Olbermann is the highest calling of any patriotic American.

The sad part is that he and his followers actually believe this.

Enjoy the ENTIRE email with the name of my reader redacted to protect the innocent.

so... I'm confused, which one of us is the loon?

I have no doubt that you have received a flood of emails supporting your decision to open your site back up, but please keep in mind, it only takes a few seconds to bang out an email, but you're the one dedicating your life to this. I have no doubt that your heart is in the right place, but certainly there are activities that you could be railing against that are truly un-American and not merely the activities of an American whom you disagree with who is exercising his constitutionally protected right to free speech.

A true patriot would support the first amendment, even when it is being used in a way that you disagree with.

Good luck, buddy.

I actually have no problem with you using my name (I have nothing to hide, or be ashamed of), It was his publishing of my email address that I didn't like. That was a fresh clean address and now I've started getting spam.

For the record, When I forwarded this email exchange I asked that Mr Cocks email address be redacted so that I wouldn't appear a hypocrite. But, since Cocks wouldn't remove my address without an APOLOGY from me (ha!) I guess I won't make too big a stink about it. After all, this isn't really my fight.

Good luck, keep fighting the good fight.

Jeff-

Your emails are even more revealing than all of ours.

He acts like a 10-year-old with a personality disorder.

How on earth does a fruitcake like this get to assign bloggers to the Libby trial?

(Ane how does a fruitcake like Dutson get assigned?)

Not sure why you even printed these e mails! Very strange to say the least!

How does this show the "warped mind" of Mr Cox???

CONFUSED!!

I found out about his email policy after sending him one also. However, i have no intent of requesting it be removed. I'm proud that I stood up to his sick nonsense, and it makes him look more the dick because of it.

Honestly though, I have gone back to the site maybe once since the relaunch. It's truly not worth your time..

"Maybe once," olbyloon, for sure. Looks like it's been a little slow over here, nothing since 3/13. What do you do with all your time?

A critical investigation of the press, it seems to me, is a very high calling. While Cox is certainly narrow in his focus, it is, after all, only one blog. All of us have our subjects of interest, why take him to task for his particular hobby? In fact, given that Olbermann is making arguments about what should or should not be done, it seems to me that it would be a good thing for someone to point out when his arguments are good and when they are bad. Cox is only adding to the public discussion of the matters of most importance.
